WEST CHESTER, Pa., June 11, 2010 —MEI announces a new high-quality 12-volt battery-operated bill validator that uses half the power and “wakes up” three times faster than competitive devices. The MEI Series 2000 12 V battery bill validator operates in sleep mode while not in use and snaps into bill acceptor mode in .5 seconds when a customer inserts a bill. This feature makes it ideal for pool tables and other battery-powered applications.
The MEI Series 2000 12 V battery validator uses only 60 uA of current while in sleep mode, which greatly extends the battery life. This feature, coupled with a low operational current draw, conserves energy and results in at least a 50% longer battery life than its competition.
Operators can expect the same industry-leading performance and reliability with MEI’s new Series 2000 12 V model. The device features enclosed sensors which protect the device against vandalism attempts and fluid ingress. The bill validator is designed to operate in tough environments and recover from vandalism attempts without a service call. This provides operators the assurance that their battery-operated games will have the maximum uptime to serve the customer. Additionally, the product accepts bills fed to it from either direction, face up or down, and employs enhanced multi-wavelength optics for sophisticated bill validation, ensuring a high level of security.
